According to the Montana Office of Economic Development, service sector jobs including healthcare, management, business services and social services will increase through 2019. These positions include social and human service assistants, medical assistants and technicians, medical service managers, health information technicians; market research analysts, management analysts, public relations specialists; network systems and data communication analysts, and computer systems analysts.
Psychology graduates are well suited for careers in these fields due to the training they receive in the study of human behavior, data analysis, statistical methodology, and interpersonal communication. Psychology students learn to apply psychological research to real world issues of case management, whether that is in the medical world, at a government agency, or in the business world. They are adept at gathering and processing data through any number of critical analysis methods. And, interpreting and relaying this data is part of the communications, writing, and problem solving skills learned in a degree program.
