I'm a High School Graduate...

Becoming eligible for an Indiana psychologist license requires determination and a passion for the particular career field you are wishing to enter.

As a high school graduate, you will have ample opportunity to learn more about the career options available to you while acquiring your college degree. So, make sure you take advantage of all career services and your professors have to offer you in terms of guidance and advice.

While you learn more about yourself and what type of career you wish to be involved with, these resources you will have during your college years are some of the best and most accessible you will ever have.

Step One:

One word... Education. The one investment that has never proven to lose its value is a college education. Whether you end up earning your Indiana psychologist licensure or you head into another career field, a college education is an absolute must have for any professional.

I've already received my Bachelor's or Master's degree...

Once you have your undergraduate or Master's degree you will need to continue on and earn your doctorate degree in psychology, educational psychology or an education degree that specializes in counseling psychology or educational psychology from an accredited college or university.

Step One:

Contact schools offering Master's, PhD or PsyD programs you are interested in.

Step Two:

When choosing a Master's or Doctoral program, you will be narrowing your career focus. Since there are a large variety of areas where you can go within the field of psychology, it would be wise to speak with the career services personnel at your school to learn more about various opportunities you may participate in to boost yourself higher on the list of possible applicants for school and/or for a professional position once you have completed your schooling.

I have finished my PhD or PsyD...

Follow the steps to learn how to acquire your Psychologist license in Indiana.

Step One:

Your doctoral program needs to include 1500 hours of internship experience that needs to be completed within 2 years. Once the internship and degree requirements have been met, you will need to also complete 1600 hours of supervised work experience by a qualified supervisor in no less than one year.

Step Two:

Once the above requirements are met, you can download and submit the Indiana psychologist licensure application and all supporting forms to the Indiana Board.

Step Three:

The Indiana State Psychology Board will review your application and, once it has been approved, you will be eligible to take the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP).
