Below are basic guidelines for those wishing to earn their social work licensure in New Hampshire. Most procedures and requirements remain constant over the years; however, it is wise to contact the New Hampshire Board of Mental Health Practice at (603)-271-6762 to make sure you are on the right track.
Follow the steps to earn your New Hampshire Social Work License:
Step One:
Complete a master’s or doctoral degree program in social work from a school approved by the Council on Social Work Education
Request information from schools offering social work degree programs.
Step Two:
Next, you will need to complete 2 years or 3000 hours of paid, post-master’s, supervised clinical experience.

Step Three:
Download and complete the Candidate for Licensure Agreement and the Request to sit for the ASWB Clinical Exam forms and send to the New Hampshire Board. The Board will inform you when you are eligible to sit for the ASWB examination

Step Four:
After completing the examination, download and submit the application for New Hampshire social work licensure. You may download the appropriate form off the following New Hampshire Board's website.
